Tecolia, who was born and raised in Southern NJ, began her acting career at the tender age of 4. Tecolia was apart of a theater group called The Drama Team. The Drama Team would travel around to different states performing Gospel Theater. Where she performed in sold out plays like Tribulation, Heaven Or Hell, and Trying Times (which also went to film). During her journey with The Drama Team Tecolia met a lot of influential people including Rhythm and Blues singer Garnet Mimms, whom Tecolia played his daughter in the stage play Bio of his life story (Directed by: Diane Fauntleroy). Also during that time Tecolia was under the dance instruction of Karen Pendergrass, the wife of the legendary Rhythm and Blues singer Teddy Pendergrass. At the age of 13 Tecolia started to sway away from The Drama Team in hopes of pursuing an acting career in film. Tecolia then went to acting school with The Actors Training Studio. It was there that things began to unfold for her even more. At the Actors Training Studio Tecolia learned a lot about the film industry and was able to work on perfecting her craft. While taking acting classes Tecolia went back to her roots of singing and dancing. Tecolia enrolled in Tap, Hip Hop, and Belly Dancing and continued with her singing lessons. Tecolia also decided to try out another hidden talent of hers. Which is writing poetry. Since doing so Tecolia has become Poetry Ambassador numerous times, has had one poem published called “The Industry Dream”, and has won an award and medallion for her previous work.
